Dike Newell School

Greetings Dike-Newell Families!! I know you've been patiently waiting for information on the start of school.  I appreciate your patience, and wanted to send along a few important updates. The district committee on reopening schools has been hard at work since June, and drafted the plan that was recently shared.  The RSU1 School Board met last night, and after thoroughly discussing the plans, voted to approve the plan with the amendment that staff and administration for PK-5 students would phase up to 100% of students and not begin immediately at 100%.  While we work to determine the specific details, you can rest assured that the plan includes in-person instruction, as well as the option to learn remotely if that is more appropriate for your child or family.  We are looking forward to working with you in whichever mode you select.  Please look for more information to come soon, including class placements. These are still being developed as we determine numbers of students that will be attending in-person in the fall.
