Dike Newell second grade students have been coming to the library in small classroom groups to use the Bee-Bot robots as well as the Fairy Tale STEAM kits. Bee-bots are robots designed for young children that teach sequencing, estimation and problem-solving and are a great introduction to computer coding. The Fairy Tale STEAM Kits combine classic stories with hands-on STEAM and literacy activities. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Using the kits helps to build critical language and literacy skills, boost creative expression and promotes mastery of early engineering concepts.
